The Faculty of Sharia at An-Najah National University, represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Jamal Zaid Al-Kilani, participated in a meeting dedicated to promoting the values of coexistence in Nablus and condemning the recent attack on the Bir Ya’qub Church. The event took place on Friday, September 9, 2022, and was attended by Patriarch Michel Sabbah, Archbishops Atallah Hanna, Munib Younan, William Shomali, Abdullah Yuly, Mr. Omar Harami, Director of the Al-Sabeel Center, Mr. Ishaq Al-Samiri, Islamic preacher and thinker Zuhair Al-Debai (“Abu Islam”), and a large gathering of representatives from local institutions and notable figures from Nablus.

The participants emphasized that Palestine in general, and Nablus in particular, take pride in their diversity and culture of coexistence. They also unanimously affirmed their strong rejection of any attack on religious sites, stressing the utmost seriousness and determination in upholding this principle.
