Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jamal Al-Kilani, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, students enrolled in the Comparative Religion course organized an educational trip on Tuesday, March 28, 2022, to Bethlehem Bible College, aiming to strengthen engagement with religious education institutions in the country. The trip included the participation of Dr. Montaser Asmar, Head of the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, Dr. Amer Joud Allah, Professor of Creed and Comparative Religion, and Dr. Hudhaifa Bdeir, Professor of Hadith Studies.

Dr. Youssef Khoury provided a brief lecture on the history of Christianity in the Holy Land, which included questions and enriching discussions.

Dr. Asmar conveyed the greetings of Prof. Dr. Al-Kilani and expressed hope for the continuation of academic visits between educational institutions, emphasizing the importance of deepening dialogue among specialists in comparative religion studies, enhancing communication, and gaining firsthand understanding to foster cooperation, particularly on shared concerns.

After lunch, students went on a guided tour of the city of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus (peace be upon him), where they were introduced to major religious landmarks, including the Church of the Nativity and the Omar ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, built during the Ottoman era.

On the return journey, the group visited the shrine of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), a significant Islamic landmark that has been revered by leaders of Islamic conquests throughout the centuries.

The students expressed that they greatly benefited from this practical educational visit, which clearly embodied the principles of purposeful interfaith dialogue, and they called for the repetition of similar visits in the future.
